Project O Five is an independent, Ottawa-based non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing global peace and security through the strategic application of smart power—a fusion of hard and soft power. Founded in 2015 by Kagusthan Ariaratnam, the organization seeks to raise public awareness and develop innovative solutions to global terrorism, radicalization, and systemic inequality. Through Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), policy advocacy, and civil society engagement, Project O Five empowers communities and institutions to address the root causes of violent extremism while promoting democratic values, international cooperation, and inclusive development.
Mission
Our mission is to help create and sustain a State of Global Terrorist Deterrence by harnessing the combined strength of strategic intelligence and civil society–driven soft power. We aim to prevent radicalization and counter terrorism not only through surveillance and security tactics but by fostering global solidarity, promoting equitable development, and inspiring peaceful narratives rooted in dignity, opportunity, and justice.
Vision
Project O Five envisions a borderless world in which global citizens are united by shared values, collective security, and mutual responsibility. In this world, the conditions that foster terrorism—poverty, inequality, exclusion, and statelessness—are addressed through diplomacy, development, education, and cooperation rather than force alone. We believe a truly secure world must be just, inclusive, and informed by the diverse voices of civil society.
